The second club championship match was staged on the canal at Step-up Cottage. The canal was fishing well and produced excellent weights for this stretch. Steve Myers had a couple of bream in his 9lb 4oz, everyone else was looking for the bonus fish. Linda had a perch of 2-8-0 which will be entered for the Perch Cup. All eleven anglers weighed in, the full result is:

The Over 60's started their match series on Dobsons, which produced a good start with fish showing well. Steve Myers caught 2 Carp and a Bream from peg 9 for 16lb 12oz, Ken Hunt was on peg 6 with 13lb 1oz and Merv had 3 Bream and some bits from peg 5 for 12lb 8oz. 12 anglers entered making for a good turn out. The match season for 2014 has begun and the old boys are first out of the blocks with the Over 70's match on Alders. They had a great day of fishing with a close run thing for the top places. S Dyer won with a bagful of small silvers for 5lb 15oz, Ken Hunt only 2 ounces behind with a couple of good bream, and the others caught some tench between 1.5 and 2lb. Those baby tench are at last showing having grown up a bit. Looks good for the other matches on Alders this year. The whole result is:

The club champioship started with the opening match on Speen Moors. there was a good turn out and good conditions. The river was flowing well and clear, making it challenging for most people. Dave Taylor won it with a chub and a bream for 5lb 4oz, Richard Wiggins had two chub from the chub hole furhter down the order, and the rest were mixed bags catching whatever could be had. For the final Club Championship match of 2013, the contestants went to Speen Moors for the second time in a row. The cooler weather was beginning to bite and hot pegs were few and far between. It was a runaway win for Brian Cripps with five tackle-testing chub for a weight of just over 19lb. Next was Dave Chandler with 5lb 15ox and Richard Wiggins with 5lb 5oz. After that the weights fell away, remarkably Linda Pallett weighed in with 2 drams for the last of the points, that must have been a very small fish. The full run down was:
