Over 60's match 24th June 2015

The first match of the new season for the Over 60s took place on Dobsons.   A pair of bream secured the first win for Mervyn Burrows whiclst a carp took second for Brian Cripps. Good to see the bream showing, although most people only caught one or two fish and a lot blanked. Not the most exciting start, here is the full result:

Over 70's match 17th June 2015

The first match result of 2015 is in, the Over 70's kicked it off at Alders hoping to catch a fish. With many reports of pleasure anglers catching nothing it looked like a tough match. In the event S Dyer was the runaway winner with 2lb 4oz, nobody else getting more than ounce weights. K North was second with 10oz and four people tied for third with 7oz. The full score was:

Pike Match 9th November 2014

The second of the three pike matches was held on the Enborne Canal. With a relatively large field of 9 trying to coax the snappers out of the stillwater fishery this is always a difficult match. In the event just four fish were bagged, the scores were as follows:

Steve Prater - 50 points - weight 19lb 7oz (two fish, biggest 14lb 13oz)

Rod Smith - 45 points - weight 9lb 4oz

Robert Southwell - 40 points - weight 3lb 2oz

Ken Hunt ,David Taylor, Belinda Taylor, Nathan Wheeler, Martin Southwell, Kevin Richardson - get 5 points each for competing

Club Championship 16th November 2014

The club championship match took place on Enborne Canal this time. It was a runaway win for Dave Smith who bagged three good perch for 6lb 4oz. Mat Tarrant had a good performance in second with 2lb 14oz of mostly gudgeon. Richard Wiggins and Dave Chandler both had a good perch too to boost their weight First and second place came from the end pegs 14 and 28. If you didn't find perch it was a difficult day. Three quarters of the series done, the table is effectively 2 leagues, the top 4 have broken away on over 90 points, with the 5th place back on 67 points. The full run down:

Club Championship 2nd November 2014

The club championship visited Speen Moors with a field of 17 all trying to make a late push up the results table. The rivers fished well with some good weights being caught. There were chub, bream, roach, dace, perch, minnows, gudgeon and trout caught in abundance, pity the trout don't count. The result was:
