Over 70's match 21st September 2016

The 0ver 70's (and 80's) fished the penultimate match in their series on Knotts, where 9 anglers tried to improve their points totals. Ken North took the win, with Jim Knott and Bill Dixon tied for second. With one match to go Ken and Bill are joint leaders but any one of 8 anglers could still win the title. And with the very odd results that these matches have produces this year, its anyone's game. The result was:

Over 60's match 14th September 2016

The Over 60s now building up their momentum visited the Enborne Canal for the mid-September match. Probably keen to get a bit of practice for the upcoming Help for Heroes match the field set out for mixed bags. The fish were biting nicely and the weights were good for the top 3. Steve Thame restored his winning ways to win ahead of Brian Cripps. The full result was:

Dave Smith 3-14-0

Over 60's match 21st September 2016

For the second match in September the over 60s moved to Alders because it has been fishing well enough recently.  Steve Thame continued his winning run for a total of 4 wins in the series, to beat Brian Cripps. Because the series is the best 6 results, Steve and Dave Smith are dropping the weaker results now, and Steve is near his theoretical maximum with 58 points already. The top three found big fish, with only scraps for the lower places. The full result was:

Over 60's match 31st August 2016

The over 60's returned from their summer recess with a match on Knotts, looking for some big fish. However the big ones eluded them, with only small stuff caught, and not many of them. Steve Thame broke his run of 2 consecutive wins to place second behind Dave Smith. The result was: 

1. Dave Smith 1-4-0

2. Steve Thame 0-15-0 and Brian Cripps 0-15-0
