Club Championship match 1st January 2017

The first match of the year on New Year's Day was moved to the Enborne Canal in hte hope of finding more fish. The move paid off and on the day there was a clear win for Brian Cripps with  16lb of perch. Second was Dave Smith with 7lb, then Tony Franklin just edged ahead of Karl Godfrey with nearly 6lb. This leaves it finely balanced for the last match in March with Mssrs Smith and Cripps level on points in the lead, and Dave Chandler in with a shout. The full weigh in was:

Club Championship match 23rd October 2016

The club championship circus descended on Speen Moors for the latest round and the second match of October. This time the fish were hard to catch and the weights were mostly under a pound. The big surprise was that Clarke Ayling rocked up for his first match for a long time and bagged a single large bream on the waggler to grab the win. With the rest of the field still reeling in shock, Dave Chandler with a few minnows for 1 dram, held on to his overall lead but reduced as others gained on him. The full result was:

Clark Ayling 4-6-0 1 Bream

Brian Cripps 0-7-0

Dave Smith 0-4-0

Over 60's match 12th October 2016

With  just three matches to go the over 60's visited Enborne canal, a venue which is reliably producing some fish on most pegs along the length. Henry Sadler took the win from the end peg which is always a good draw, with a good bream and plenty of roach. Dave Smith was second with a bag mostly of perch. Steve Thame didn't add to his "best 6" total, but Dave's second place meant he crept up slightly. The full result was:

Henry Sadler 6-2-0 End peg 17

Dave Smith 4-14-0 peg 9

Steve Myers 2-9-0 peg 13
