Club Championship 15th July 2012
The second event of the Newbury AA Club Championship took place on Speen Moors on 15th July. The river was difficult to fish following all the rain and produced only small weights. A field of 16 battled it out, and the winners were on the high peg numbers. Mat Tarrant ran away with it, most of the anglers not even getting a pound of fish. The result is:
Mat Tarrant with 10lb 9oz from peg 39 with 6 chub and 3 dace on the stick
Martin Pallet with 5lb 13oz from peg 41, mostly perch
Ade Ager with 3lb 12oz from peg 45
Other weights were:
R. Durnford 3lb 6oz; Richard Wiggins and Henry Sadler 2lb 2oz; Brian Cripps 2lb; john Cox 1lb 11oz; Vinny 9oz; Linda Pallett 8oz; Josh and Pete Purton 4oz; Dave Smith and L. Durnford 3oz; S Petis and B. Pallett failed to weigh in.
Well done to Pete for weighing in a pellet for 1oz.
