Coronavirus Update - 25th September 2020

Following the recent changes to Government protocols we are pleased to say that we can continue fishing as a permitted activity following the temporary rules (see below) we already have in place. There are a few minor changes which affect us, these being:-

  • You should travel to fishing venues on your own or with members of your household. Only travel based on what is allowed under current Government guidelines

  • Maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from other people (unless members of your household) in line with government guidance

  • You can fish with members of your household or up to 5 other people outside your household but you must stick to social distancing guidelines at all times. ( Match fishing is still permitted providing we continue to follow the guidelines we have issued.) These will be briefed to all participants prior to the match

  • Fishing positions or pegs should only be fished by individuals or members of the same household, or unless anglers can maintain social distancing at all times.

As echoed by the Angling Trust It is all our responsibility to ensure angling remains a safe, permitted activity by playing our part and maintaining the high standards of best practice that we have set ourselves over the past few months.

Meanwhile you must still comply with these new rules carefully, which have been introduced to protect us all and help to stop the spread of the virus. Please note that the 48 hr maximum stay on any venue has now been removed.

Specifically for Avington please see the revised additional rules which must be followed.
