Over 60's match 29th September 2021

Twelve anglers contested this round of the over 60s on a cool, bright, but windy day on Bellwood. Numbers were drawn and the anglers proceeded to the pegs selected. The A4 side was in brilliant sunshine, rest of the lake in cold shade. Fish were mainly being caught on maggot or pinkie. The day proceeded without the promised rain. At the weigh-in, Steve Thame came out top with 8lb 10oz followed by Henry Sadler on 5lb 12oz and Richard Wiggins with 5lb 9oz. Dave Smith's lead has now been reduced to 8 points with Tim Wirth in second place. Looking forward to the next round. Tight lines, Henry Sadler.

Memorial match 26th September 2021

Thirteen keen lake anglers enjoyed a warm Sunday fishing the above match on Willows. Fish were being caught within the first few minutes. Various methods were used and secret baits came to the fore. Winning weight was Richard Faithfull with 61lb 14oz, mainly carp with the exception of one bream weighing 6lb 5oz (caught on the pellet wag). Second Les Durnford with 36lb and third was Wilf Squires with 34lb. Roy Spiers followed with 33lb 5oz and Steve Myers with 33lb 4oz. With over 200lb of fish caught, a great match! Over 70's match 1st September 2021

The battle to win the over 70s is very close after the most recent match at Knotts on 1st September. A confident 10 anglers attended the draw hoping for a low number. On a warm but windy day most people caught fish. The winner was B. Pallett with 9lb 12oz followed by M. Burrows with 6lb 8oz. Third place was H. Sadler weighing 5lb 14oz. With one match to fish, the league table has altered yet again. R. Wiggins leads with 27 points. H. Sadler 26 points, B. Pallett is on 24 points followed by W. Dixon 23, K. Hodges 20, M. Burrows 19, K. Payne 14, K. Rolfe 13, K. Halsey 11, A. Megarry 10 and T. Wirth and D. Smith 7 points. One match to go! Tight lines, Henry

Over 60's match 22nd September 2021

Thirteen Anglers fished the latest over 60's match at Dobsons on a very warm day. The fishing was slow with the exception of 2/3 pegs. Tim Wirth came out top on the day with 11lb 3oz consisting of 11 Carp and 2 Bream. John Bartram was second, fishing peg 40 and weighed 5lb 8oz. Fishing mates Brian Pallett and Richard Wiggins tied for 3rd place with 4lb 5oz. Kim Hodges came next with 2lb from peg 30, keeping the pressure on the league front runners. Over 60's match 11th August 2021

On a bright sunny 11th August, 13 over 60s prepared to do battle with Alders. The draw was made at 9am and preparations were made for the 10am whistle. The start was very slow as Alders went back to its normal difficult lake. As the day progressed some pegs produced fish and some remained difficult. It would appear that cray fish are becoming a problem with anglers complaining of bait being stripped from hooks. At the weigh-in the consistent Dave Smith weighed 17-6-0 to win, followed by Les Durnford on 7-0-0 and Steve Thame third with 4-15-0. Five anglers did not weigh.
