About the NAA

Welcome to the Newbury Angling Association web site!

Newbury Angling Association is one of oldest coarse angling clubs in the UK, founded in 1878, and was formed to provide local anglers with quality fishing. Now after more than 130 years it offers its members some of the finest river, canal, and stillwater fishing anywhere, and some of the most challenging specimen fish.

The fisheries include stretches of the natural river Kennet and its side streams, the Kennet and Avon Navigation in the form of still and flowing waterway, and a variety of stillwaters large and small. Between them these waters hold all the coarse species you would expect from the southern lowlands.

Membership of the association is steady at around 1000 members. The majority of these members fish for pleasure either sitting on the bankside or stalking along a clear stream. There are many who choose to specialise in specimen hunting. For those who like to fish competitively there is a strong match scene in the club.

Standard membership is available to anybody who lives within a 12 mile radius of Newbury town centre. There are different membership categories to cater for all people, and associate membership is available for the more distant friends of our local members.

If you are keen to find out more please browse this web site. There are contact pages for you make further enquiries or join the club. On behalf of the committee I hope you join soon and begin to enjoy the benefits of membership.
